The Christmas Gift-Jesus, love, family and friends
Christmas time has always been a very special time for us. To me it’s all about Christ and love and family.
I love gifts don’t get me wrong, I like things and stuff, but Love and Family with God is the best. It is the most amazing gifts to me.
The last 4 months have been the most challenging to me but at the same time it is becoming the most rewarding also.
After I had a stroke and surgery 4 months ago my journey these past few months has been pretty intense. My whole life has been rearranged by God and me. Things that I thought were so important are not as important. Things that should of been top priority but were not have been placed back in proper order in my life.
In the movie the George feels he has lost everything. He feels he has failed everyone including his wife and children and family and friends. He feels like he has no reason to live. He is hopeless. God sends and Angel named Clarence to help him see he has so much more than he sees with his eyes.
When we see with our eyes we only see what is in the natural which is very limited. This is why it’s so easy for people to get all hung up on gifts and things and stuff.
Christmas is not about stuff. We need to teach ourselves and then teach our children what the real meaning is and live it. It is about the greatest gift ever given to man from God, the gift of Jesus. He is the gift of life, real life, abundant life, joyful life, hope life, purpose life, successful life, serving life. This gift is a life of freedom, power, and blessings. This gift is Eternal this gift will give and keep on giving.
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” John 10:10 AMP
Jesus comes to give us life. This is so much more that air in our lungs and a roof. This life is so much more than money and business. This life is the ability to step into God World. Where Gods Kingdom and His Spirit reside and He rules.
Like the movie Matrix, there is a parallel world that God has. We see and live in the natural world, but there is another realm. It’s a Divine realm. It’s a Peace and power realm.
Most people struggle in the natural realm with fear, sickness, hurt and pain, bitterness and unforgivness and struggling to control this natural realm. Love, Gods Love can take you into this other realm where God is. Where His Holy Spirit is, this realm is within each and every person here.
You have to crossover or cross through.
There is opposition to accessing this power, this place of hope, this place of joy. Who do you focus on the thief or the giver of life. The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. The way you empower this thief is when you give him your time, thoughts, your feelings, your emotions your energy. If you focus on the giver of life, Jesus you realize He can get back anything the thief stole.
When you focus on what you think is gone, you can’t see what is really here for you. If I see only what is lost, I won’t see what is found.
Life or Lose. When you focus on what you lost you will never see what you have. You won’t see what God is trying to give you.
“So we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen; for the things which are visible are temporal [just brief and fleeting], but the things which are invisible are everlasting and imperishable.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 AMP
“We set our eyes not on what we see but on what we cannot see. What we see will last only a short time, but what we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 NCV
For me Jesus gave me back a better life. My life is focused on the giver of life, not lose.
Many times God is trying to remove things maybe even people so you can see what He really has for you.
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14 AMP
I want to encourage you do this one thing with two steps.
Forget, let go, release what was behind you. You will never cross the finish line running back to the past. You can’t win looking backwards at would could of been. Let it go and be free. Jesus is trying to give us gifts this year. He wants to give you a gift of healing, a gift of forgiveness and freedom, a gift of rest and peace of mind, a gift of trusting again, a gift of a new beginning.
He is the greatest gift, but with that gift is love, freedom, power, a new beginning, hope, loving yourself, healing in your mind, emotions, feelings, real life. You can forget what lies behind when you realize what is in front of you is so much better. What is in front of you is so much more love, life, Jesus is in front of you calling you to trust Him.
Remember Israel when God sent Moses to lead them out of captivity. They struggled to trust God and follow His Plan.
Egypt represent bondage, pain, ugly, not enough.
Wilderness where they wandered around and around because they were afraid to truly love and trust God. This is the place of transition. It is not supposed to be permanent. It is a temporary place, yet fear and few other things caused them to stay there.
This place is just enough. They had just enough food, just enough barely enough to keep themselves going. They only had a daily ration. They could not save or store. They struggled because they were afraid to crossover into the THE PROMISED LAND OR THE PROMISE.
THE PROMISE OR PROMISED LAND WAS THE PLACE THAT GOD GAVE THEM. THEIR GIFT, THEIR INHERITANCE, IT WAS THERE GIFT FROM THEIR FATHER.
“Now thanks be to God for His indescribable gift [which is precious beyond words]!” 2 Corinthians 9:15 AMP
This gift is life and its eternal life. It is for here and after. It is for now and then to come.
“Every good action and every perfect gift is from God. These good gifts come down from the Creator of the sun, moon, and stars, who does not change like their shifting shadows. God decided to give us life through the word of truth so we might be the most important of all the things he made.” James 1:17-18 NCV
