Thankful Generosity

We just had Thanksgiving. It was great spending time with family and friends. My baby girl did an Amazing job of preparing our meal, also Chris the whole Estrada clan did. Here is day that we choose to celebrate and thank God for so much blessings. I find it kinda ironic the very next day is Black Friday. People are racing to buy this and that. I remember one year watching on the news people fighting over toys and tv’s in Walmart. Crazy.

We go from Grace to Stuff, material things. I love gifts and presents and all of that stuff but we must hold to a much deeper meaning.

As time goes by our values and morals are if we are not careful will erode and be no more.

“in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 THESSALONIANS 5:18 AMP

We got revelation on Thanks and Giving. It comes from a spiritual place inside of you. Thankfulness is a condition of the heart. It draws from what God has did for you when you recognize and acknowledge all the great and Amazing Things God has did for you.

Someone who judges their life by what they have or don’t have can never really be thankful. This internal quality has nothing to do with what you have or don’t have.

I never look at someone who has a lot of money and material things and say, “Look how blessed they are.” Why? Things do not equal blessings. I have met many who have lots of stuff and lots of money in the bank but are broke. They hearts and lives are empty. Lonely and miserable.

I love to watch Scrooge every year. I will find and watch many different versions. With all he had, he was sick, lonely and broke. He gave up love, friends, family, happiness, joy, peace, etc… for the pursuit of money. His nephew was all happy inviting Scrooge to Christmas dinner and all Scrooge could say was how broke his nephew was. The nephew was happy and joyous, and loving life.

We all are driven by something. There is a belief that we all live by, not what we say we believe but deep within us that something is driving your lives.

People who believe there is not enough driving will constantly be holding back. People who believes no one cares will not give al all, see how what is in you, deep within you will control your actions, behaviors and attitudes.

People who believe only certain ones deserve it will drive them to share with certain people.

We are not generous by nature. Look at little children, grabbing their toys and yelling mine, mine, mine.

THERE IS A STORY OF 10 leper’s who Jesus heals only one comes back to thank Him.

“One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying and praising and honoring God with a loud voice; and he lay face downward at Jesus’ feet, thanking Him [over and over]. He was a Samaritan. Then Jesus asked, “Were not ten [of you] cleansed? Where are the [other] nine? Was there no one found to return and to give thanks and praise to God, except this foreigner?” Jesus said to him, “Get up and go [on your way]. Your faith [your personal trust in Me and your confidence in God’s power] has restored you to health.”” LUKE 17:15-19 AMP

One of them. Driving him, was Gratitude he turned back glorifying, praising, honoring God.

One when he say that he was healed. They all say the miracles and blessings. The difference is one when he seen he turned back. He went back to the source of his healing.

The Source.

SOURCE mean the point at which something begins its course or existence, applies more often to the point where something springs into being. Synonyms for source

Synonyms: Noun:fountain, fountainhead, origin, root, seedbed, spring, well, wellspring

The Source the spring, the root, the origin where it all begins. Jesus is our Source. He is the Source of our salvation. Jesus is the Source of our achievements. Jesus is the Source of our confidence. Jesus is the Source of our healing. Jesus is the Source of our creativity. Jesus is the Source of our growth. Jesus is the Source of our success. Jesus is the Source of our prosperity. Jesus is the Source of our happiness. Jesus is the Source of our increase and achievements.Gratitude is what will always drive you back to the Source of your Everything.

Gratitude is what drove the one man who was healed back to the feet of Jesus.

The other 9 what was the difference? They allowed their healing to drive them. They were driven by what they received. What not Who? They were driven by what they received, but what they got, not the source of the healing or miracle.

The Bible is full of examples who had people who got something from God and went on with not gratitude to God.

Many got feed but after they food was gone they were gone.

There were those who got healed and continued to follow Jesus every He went. They were so grateful they began to do life with Him.

Ruth 1:16-18 Remember Ruth, she was so grateful to Naomi her mother in law. Look at what she said to her.

“But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people will be my people, and your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD do the same to me [as He has done to you], and more also, if anything but death separates me from you.” When Naomi saw that Ruth was determined to go with her, she said nothing more.”

I have found this to be true. Gratitude is the true driver to true Generosity.

When Gratitude is not the driver it is normally Obligation. This is when you feel you have to because you owe. We do owe, but this driver won’t last. It is will get resentful, it still in from the natural side of you.

Gratitude: a strongfeeling of appreciation to someone or something for what the person has done to help you: eternal grateful.

Obligation: something that you must do because of a law, rule, promise, etc. These are the two usual ways people approach serving God.

“Now He who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your seed for sowing [that is, your resources] and increase the harvest of your righteousness [which shows itself in active goodness, kindness, and love]. You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous, and this [generosity, administered] through us is producing thanksgiving to God [from those who benefit].” 2 CORINTHIANS 9:10-11 AMP
