SERIES: God’s Successful Living – Gods Instructions

Sermon Notes

I was having a conversation with someone. They had received such a revelation about life and themselves and i thought it was so profound that it stuck in like a knife to the heart. It hit a home run in my life.

They said they have been living life in a run down shack when the whole time they had the blue prints for a mansion inside of them. God put it there in their beginning.

God loves us so much. He wants us to be so blessed and so successful. He wants us to be so happy and increasing in all things. God is the ultimate Father, He loves his children. He wants to do so much for us.

Gods love never changes. He will love us no matter what. He loves and will love no matter what we do or how we live. He love is unchanging. His love is unconditional.

I will love my kids and grandkids no matter what. Love does not ever change.

But my favor does. I will love unconditionally but my favor does have conditions.

Love is unconditional, favor is with conditions. To illustrate we will look at Moses. Moses was so close to God. The greatest man of God ever.

“Take the rod, and assemble the congregation, you and Aaron your brother, and tell the rock before their eyes to give forth its water, and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock; so you shall give the congregation and their livestock drink.” Numbers 20:8 AMPC

Listen to Gods Instructions: take the rod, assemble the congregation, TELL THE ROCK, OR SPEAK TO THE ROCK.

The people are complaining and whining and bad mouthing Moses and Arron, why did you bring us out here to die, on and on, negative.

“And Moses and Aaron assembled the congregation before the rock and Moses said to them, Hear now, you rebels; must we bring you water out of this rock?” Numbers 20:10 AMPC

Moses is in the flesh. He is angry, sick and tired of hearing them complain. We all have to be around negative people. That does not give you the right to go negative. God is calling us to higher level. He calls them REBELS. Notice what he says next, “Must WE BRING WATER OUT OF THIS ROCK.” Hold on, did he forget who does the miracles.

Frustration, stress, fear, anger, caused Moses to stop depending on God and began to depend on Him. Fear, stress, frustration, anger will cause you to operate your life, business, ministry, on you. You begin to put more dependence on you. I gotta do this and that. If I don’t do this the money will dry up. I built this company, if I don’t do it it wont get done.

You will find more pride, ego, stress, fear, frustration comes out of this place where you are operating your life in you. You are dependent upon the arm of flesh and not the arm of God. I am not talking about where we do not work or hard work. I am talking about a principle that shows where or who you trust in.

I have seen the struggles of people. Struggles show you where and who your trust and faith relies on. Struggles bring out the real you.

When your struggles floor you. You are so scared of loosing everything you sleep. Tired and stressed. Or you can’t sleep, worried, pacing the floors.

Moses got out of the secret place with God. When you leave the secret place with God you try to fix everything and everyone. You are dependent upon your knowledge, your labor, your prayers, etc.

“And Moses lifted up his hand and with his rod he smote the rock twice. And the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock.” Numbers 20:11 AMPC

Wait a minute. What was Gods Instructions? Take the rod, assemble the people, AND SPEAK TO THE ROCK. Moses assembles the people, bad mouths them, calling them Rebels, and then beats the rock twice. He speaks not to the rock, but to the people.

There is a scripture that says speak to your mountain and it shall be removed if you have faith and believe. Moses does not speak to his rock, he speaks to his problem. He speaks about his problem.

Instructions Definitions::::: detailed information telling how something should be done, operated, or assembled. God gave instructions to Moses on things how they were to run, He chose to do things according to Moses and not God.

It is no different when we buy something and it comes with instructions and we choose to try to put the thing together with the picture instead of using the instructions. Every time you have extra parts, and it is not quite done the way it was intended.

Things usually break down, fall apart because we do not follow the instructions.

When you are given instructions, they have already figured out the best way to put it together. God has already figured out the best way to live your life, He has figured out the best way to build a marriage, a home, family, business, ministry, health body, conflict resolution, etc.

He has given us instructions on all of these and so many more things.

“And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, Because you did not believe in (rely on, cling to) Me to sanctify Me in the eyes of the Israelites, you therefore shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. [Ps. 106:32, 33.]” Numbers 20:12 AMPC

I remembered Pastoring and feeling the financial fears and stresses for so long. The reason why I so stressed, frustrated had to do with i was caring the load. I was dependent upon me making this happen, keeping the ministry up and afloat. Me, me, and more of me. When you build and create something and you speak and live as though it is so dependent upon you for survival, where is God.

We can say we trust God, but what does our mouth say, what do our actions and behaviors say. How we live shows who we trust in. Who we run to when things get tight,

Moses failed in this area because he for this instance shifted his dependence from God to himself. I have learned over the years the reasons why christians struggle to follow Gods Instructions is they are afraid to trust Him. So they trust themselves.

Your fears cause you to not obey Gods Instructions. Fear of getting hurt, fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of success, fear, fear, fear, fear.

Speed up the time clock. Moses is dead. God did allow Moses to go up to the top of a mountain and see the promised land. He got to see it but not experience it, not live in it. That is like going to Baskin Robins and you get to stand out side of the store and look thru the window and see all the ice-cream. God is talking with Joshua, giving him a pep talk.

“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.” Joshua 1:5 AMPC

God says I will not fail you or forsake you. Moses failed. The people failed. God kept His word. He gave His instruction and said if you do this you will get this. If you do that this is what will happen.

When we do not follow His instructions we cant blame God for the outcome. The consequences come with the choices you choose. He said speak to the rock, not beat it and call the people names. God was saying MY Instructions is use your mouth to speak, spiritual, supernatural, creative uplifting things, not to degrade, put down, speak down on people. God has a problem when you talk down on others. Even if they are messed up, God has a problem when we speak down to people.

“Be strong (confident) and of good courage, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.” Joshua 1:6 AMPC

My break thru in finances was when I got the revelation that God not I supplies for me. When I kept talking, thinking, believing, stressing, it was dependent upon me. I had to carry the load. I had to under the curse work by the sweat of my brow. This means we still work and work hard but God supplies not me. I will do all i have to do, but my faith and trust is in God. Really got me freedom. If the money don’t come in to pay the bills then its His problem.

Before I mortgaged my houses to keep the doors open. Worked and slaved like a dog to keep the ministry going. This was me, depending on me.

Something happens when you begin to trust God. Really trust God. Supernatural things, Amazing things you did nothing really to do but they come your way “Only you be strong and very courageous, that you may do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you. Turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.” Joshua 1:7-8 AMPC

This strength and courage was not in him but in God. What you Trust in you do according To You or God. You will follow your instructions or Gods Instructions.

Prosperity is a by product of trusting and following Gods Instructions. Poverty is by product of trusting in you and your instructions. Poverty in life, marriage, health, relationships, business,

Blessings When Gods Instructions are in your mouth, you will do what the Instructions of God says to do, What comes out of that? FOR THEN YOU SHALL MAKE YOUR WAY PROSPEROUS, AND YOU SHALL DEAL WISELY AND HAVE GOOD SUCCESS.

Depart—–to withdraw, cease, go back, remove, take away Meditate—chant Make—-covenant Way—-a course of life, mode of action, Prosperous—-to push forward, break out, go over, be profitable, Good—-to be pleased, to satisfy a debt, accomplish, delight, favor, Success—to occupy by driving out previous tenants, and possessing in their place, to seize, to ruin, cast out, consume, destroy, succeed utterly
