Not ME IT's WE

Working with God and people.

Remember the saying, “Teamwork makes the dream work.” God created everyone of us for a great purpose. We must realize that most of our purposes cannot be achieved without the hep of others. This means we all need each other.

There is no such thing as a self made person. All of our lives we have had people who spoke into our lives, shared teachings and wisdoms. Think we had school teachers, Sunday school teachers, parents, family members, doctors, counselors, etc..

All the years of living people have been helping you and I grow and develop into who we are.

God created us to do life with others. We were never created to do life alone. Partnership and team work was God agenda for us.

Genesis 2:18 says, “And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”

Here it is. God knew we would need others. Working with others builds camaraderie, fellowship, family, brotherhood and an impactful army. Teamwork enables us to accomplish much more than we could do independently.

Synergy means working together, combined action or operation.

An old saying, "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts", expresses the basic meaning of synergy.

It’s like I can lift a 100lbs. You can lift a 100lbs. If we do it together we can lift 300lbs. There is an extra 100lbs we accomplish together.

There are many reasons why teamwork is so important. They say in sports, “there is no I in team.”

The family unit is a team. The church is fashioned after the model of the family.

Ecclesiastes 4:9 AMP. “Two are better than one because they have a more satisfying return for their labor;”

This is why coming to church is just the beginning of what God expects and extends for you. The enemy can so easily over come you when your alone and isolated.

Show picture of zebra alone.

Don’t you want better. God says two are better than one. Doing life alone is not what God intended. Together is His will and His way. Together we are more and can accomplish more. He says we have a more satisfying return for our labor.

Ecclesiastes 4:9 NCV. “Two people are better than one, because they get more done by working together.”

My two favorite words. Better and more. You get better and more when your together with a team.

Ecclesiastes 4:10 AMP. “for if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and does not have another to lift him up.”

Being apart of a team, family means when you fall you are not alone. It means you will have others who will help you and reach out to you when you fall.

The power of a team you have lifters. This is what I love about being apart of DCI. We do not do life alone. We are doing life together. We do the good, the bad and yes even the ugly together.

When you read the word woe it has a very strong meaning.

Woe means a condition of deep suffering from misfortune, affliction, or grief. It means for the person who is alone you will suffer misfortune, affliction or grief.

I know the power of being together with DCI. There have been times when we hit with different circumstances and thank God we had family and friends of this church who came along beside us and helped us.

We can do this alone or without everyone of you.

Ecclesiastes 4:11 AMP. “Again, if two lie down together, then they keep warm; but how can one be warm alone?”

Here again it reiterates the power of togetherness. We need you to join with us here at DCI. We need to create the unity of togetherness.

There are so many blessings and advantages of being apart of the family/team DCI.

Booker T. Washington said, “If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.”

Martin Luther King Jr. said, “We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.”

Mother Teresa said, “None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful.”

Ecclesiastes 4:12 AMP. “And though one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

Here is another point. When your alone you can easily be overpowered. The power of two, together has a much more powerful advantage for protection.

This whole scriptures have been talking about the power of two, togetherness. Now there is a new formula in the mix.

We have the two now there is a mix with an extra person on this team. Remember you and your team of at least two now who is third. It is Jesus.

Matthew 18:19 AMP. “Again I say to you, that if two believers on earth agree [that is, are of one mind, in harmony] about anything that they ask [within the will of God], it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”

When we are in the team and we are unified there is more power. Such a powerful word for us. The enemy knows this truth. This is why he works overtime trying to create division, dissension, disunity, etc. Remember the plan is divide and conquer. When we are alone, isolated we are easy prey for the enemy to mess with our mind and heart.

Agree in the Amplified bible means one mind, in harmony. Look at the power of family, team prayer. Within the will of God, it will be done for them.

You and I have way more power and authority according to Jesus when we are in a group. Alone prayer is good, but when you come together with family of God it is greater.

Matthew 18:20 AMP. “For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I am there among them.”

Jesus said, “I am there among you.” Jesus is the third cord in our rope. With a team, and Jesus we are indestructible, super powerful.

Jesus family:

Matthew 12:46-50 AMP. “While He was still talking to the crowds, it happened that His mother and brothers stood outside, asking to speak to Him. Someone said to Him, “Look! Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside asking to speak to You.” But Jesus replied to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” And stretching out His hand toward His disciples [and all His other followers], He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven [by believing in Me, and following Me] is My brother and sister and mother.””

Jesus was not being disrespectful to his mom and brother. He was using the timing for a teaching about what is a real family.

It is the bond of Christ that binds us together. It is our commitment and heart that holds us together.

1 Corinthians 12:12 AMP. “For just as the body is one and yet has many parts, and all the parts, though many, form [only] one body, so it is with Christ.”

“Teamwork divides the task and multiplies the success.” – Unknown.
