New Year – New You
We are in the first of January and many have made New Years resolution. Why do we make them? We make them because their is a belief that says at the beginning of the new year we can start fresh and new. WE can at the beginning set up and begin a brand new life.
You can do this anytime you choose but most only think of this action in January.
You get a new year, you get a new start, you get a new opportunity. Billy Butler
The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. We can help write that story by setting goals. Melody Beattie
And now we welcome the new year. Full of things that have never been. Rainer Maria Rilke
New Year will only be when you become a new you. The old you will always create the same old life. You can not change things outside of you that will last until you change you. You can not change on your own, it is the Lord and His Way that can change our heart.
Change or renewed mind and heart leads to a changed and renewed life. This is the work of Jesus.
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. All of us who are mature [pursuing spiritual perfection] should have this attitude. And if in any respect you have a different attitude, that too God will make clear to you.” PHILIPPIANS 3:13-15 AMP
ONE THING: Say one thing! In order to create a new life, a new business, a new mind set, a new relationship, anything you create that is to be New. You do not want to create old. This is time of New.
Life is like a chess game. Strategy, thinking, remember to trust God, He created the game.
The ONE THING consist of three spiritual/physical actions. But one thing I Do. Key word here is Do. Do means to perform an action, achieve or complete. Doers are achievers. This means you and I must do INTENTIONAL LIVING.
Something dynamic happens in the Eternal when we speak I Will Do.
Forgetting what lies behind: Revelation: You cant step into what God has for you if you are not letting go of what is behind you. So many want to change things in their life but still are holding onto past hurts, failures or even past successes. The problem is when you are still holding or attached to something or someone behind you, you are not moving. You are stuck. You can not move forward looking behind or stuck. Forgetting means in the Greek, “to lose out of mind, neglect.” It’s gone. I can’t change it, but I can leave it and let it go. Forgetting is something you have to internally, within your heart and mind, inside of you. Forgetting can only happen when you are forgiving. Forgetting without forgiving keeps you chained but you don’t realize it. Forgiving gives you the power to forget. This is spiritual work so you can do the physical challenge next.
But this one thing I do.
2. Reaching forward to what lies ahead: Forgetting is mental from the Forgiving which is spiritual. Spiritual and mental release sets you up to Do, take action, move, taking your life and moving forward.
I can reach when I have forgiven which leads me to be able to forget what lies behind. WE ALL HAVE MEMORIES, SOME PAINFUL, SOME TRAGIC, BUT YOU ARE BIGGER AND STRONGER THAN A MEMORY. You are not what has been done to you nor are you what you have done.
Forgetting, Reaching what is behind what lies ahead. God has so much more for us that is what lies ahead. The past is past and we must let it go in order to move on.
Reaching Forward: Reaching in the Greek, “to stretch one self.” Forward means in the Greek, “upon.” Reaching Forth.
What is it you desire to Reach Forward for, it has to be so much more than what was behind you or you won’t believe and do? Jesus cold endure the betrayal, the lies and abandonment by those who claimed to love Him. He could reach forward and do thru the act of crucification and hung on a cross for all of us. How could He do this? What lay behind Him was not near as amazing, and powerful as what lay ahead of Him.
See the goal, See your dream life, See your family healed, See your company growing, See everything around you growing. See a new life this year. See not the past or failure but the now and future what is in store fo you. The goodness and blessings and favor of God.
Reaching Forward now matter how many times we have failed or fallen. Reaching Forward now matter what.
Our heart and mind should be so focused on what lies ahead of us. This will cause you to stretch forward to what is in front of you. It takes Faith to let go of the past. It takes Faith to reach forward to what you can’t see. It takes faith to see and believe for better when your mind and eyes are saying something different.
God allowed the Israelites to send out spies under Moses to verify that what God Promised in the Promise Land was real and there. They came back telling everyone Yes, The Land is flowing with Milk and Honey. They should of stopped there, but they did not. They verified God was telling the truth. God does not lie. God is truth. What God promised was there, but they instead the 10 spies began to speak of giants and it created Fear Panic, Unbelief, Worry because they were unsure of what was really there.
What is in front of you is Unknown. What is behind you, you know already. Without a real faith and trust in God, when you are truly tested humans will rely on facts and logic and run backwards to what is known and familiar even if it is bondage.
“So faith comes from hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ.” ROMANS 10:17 AMP
Our faith comes from hearing. What do you hear? Who is speaking to you? Joshua and Caleb believed what God said. They believed in Gods Words and Gods Ways and Gods Purpose. They wanted to reach forward but the fearful, doubtful, caused a whole nation to turn and go backwards. W
When Moses died and everyone of that generation died The Joshua generation forgot what was behind. They began to to reach forward to what lied ahead of them. What is in front of you in God is so much more amazing that what was behind you.
3. “I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” PHILIPPIANS 3:14 AMP
but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.” Philippians 3:14 MSG
2018 is our year your year to press on, press into all that God has for you.
“All of us who are mature [pursuing spiritual perfection] should have this attitude. And if in any respect you have a different attitude, that too God will make clear to you.” PHILIPPIANS 3:15 AMP
