Last week we looked at moving from fear to freedom. SuperNatural Freedom. We are Spirits living in a human body. This body is just a temporary house for our Spirit. The natural man and woman is consumed and focused on just what is here. The Spirit is not limited to this realm. There is another level of God and its SuperNatural.
MOVING FROM CHALLENGES TO TRANSFORMATION:
The misconception is that we are supposed to have an easy, no hassle life. Challenges are a must in order to grow and develop into who God intends for you to be.
I have met people who think that if something challenging happens they are lost, failing, doing something wrong. God allows challenges to grow you.
James 1:2 AMP. “Consider it nothing but joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials.” “My friends, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way,” James 1:2 GNT
Challenges have a purpose from God. God does not do them, but He allows them to work with us. To let be challenged to grow in our walk and faith. See the attitude, consider it nothing but joy, consider yourselves fortunate, not cursed, not less than. Consider when we are in challenges to be fortunate. God has rewards for when we go thru and grow and win.
James 1:3. AMP. “Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace].”
Testing, developing, strengthening of your faith THROUGH EXPERIENCES. God will allow us to be challenged in many different areas, health, financial, relational, spiritual, mental, etc. Many marriages are being challenged, many families with children/teens are being challenged, to grow. Definition of Challenge: (the situation of being faced with) something that needs great mental or physical effort in order to be done successfully and therefore tests a person’s ability:
We are set up by God challenged with experiences test, developed, strengthen, grow our faith. Strengthened Faith produces Endurance.
Definition of Endurance: the fact or power of enduring or bearing pain, hardships, etc. the ability or strength to continue or last, especially despite fatigue, stress, or other adverse conditions; stamina: lasting quality; duration:
FAITH PRODUCES ENDURANCE: THE ABILITY OR STRENGTH TO CONTINUE OR LAST, LASTING QUALITY. FAITH WITH ENDURANCE SAYS WE DON’T GIVE UP OR QUIT. WE GO THROUGH. ENDURANCE LEADING TO SPIRITUAL MATURITY AND INNER PEACE.
When all hell is breaking loose outside of you Faith causes you to develop from the inside out. Faith with endurance says you will have Peace and Power in the midst of the storms. This is what you get from growing thru challenges is spiritual maturity and inner peace.
When Abraham was challenged to sacrifice his own son, spiritual maturity and inner peace. David when he faced Goliath spiritual maturity and inner peace.
James 1:4 “And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing.”
The key to this formula is your attitude, consider it a joy, or consider yourself fortunate for these trial, test, challenges.
ENDURANCE IS PERFECTING YOU. LET IT DO A THROUGH WORK. DON’T QUIT, DON’T THROW A FIT AND RUN OR GIVE IN.
REWARD OF TESTED FAITH, ENDURANCE, SPIRITUAL MATURITY AND INNER PEACE, LEADS WHEN FINISHED YOU AND I MAY BE PERFECT AND COMPLETELY DEVELOPED IN YOUR FAITH, LACKING IN NOTHING.
WE ARE LACKING IN A LOT OF AREAS AND GOD IS ALLOWING CHALLENGED TO GET US TO GROW IN OUR FAITH. GROW SPIRITUAL MATURE AND INNER PEACE, TO GET TO THE PLACE OF LACKING IN NOTHING.
LUKE 10:38. “Now while they were on their way, Jesus entered a village [called Bethany], and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home.”
Martha welcomed Jesus into her home. Who welcomed, Martha.
Luke 10:39. “She had a sister named Mary, who seated herself at the Lord’s feet and was continually listening to His teaching.”
Martha invited Jesus into the her house, Sister Mary who seats herself at the Jesus feet and was just listening to Jesus teach. Martha invites, Mary sits and listens to Jesus.
Luke 10:40. “But Martha was very busy and distracted with all of her serving responsibilities; and she approached Him and said, “Lord, is it of no concern to You that my sister has left me to do the serving alone? Tell her to help me and do her part.””
Martha was very busy, distracted with serving responsibilities. She was working for Jesus, she invited Him to come and in, but Mary chose to sit and listen, be in the moment with Jesus.
Challenges for church folks. Busy, distracted and serving responsibilities. Martha invites Jesus in but is so consumed with working for Him that she does see the importance or being in His Presence. Working for Him but not being with Him. Martha then she challenges Jesus does it bother you that my sister has left me to serve alone.
The greatest and most powerful service is when you and I have sat at His feet, filled our hearts and spirits and then get up and serve Him. Service and busy for Jesus with no time with Him produces the attitudes like Martha.
I am doing everything. I do more than anyone else, no one gives as much as me. Jesus is calling us to do the Mary before you do the Martha. We are all called to to service of Jesus, but if you don’t do the Mary time, you will have the Martha attitude. Complaining, whining, angry, etc. Martha tells Jesus what to do. Martha is so busy and distracted with serving that she complained of her sister sitting and listening to Jesus. Spiritual challenge here for us. We serving but are we sitting and listening and learning from Jesus? Our prayer life, our devotion and study life? Mary got up and served but not until Jesus was finished teaching. She understood what was the most valuable moment of
Romans 12:2. “And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
Transformation involves time, action, change, inside and outside. PROGRESSIVELY CHANGED. MATURE SPIRITUALLY BY MIND RENEWAL. WHAT YOU FOCUS ON?
