GREATER WORKS

WORKING WITH GOD

Remember in this series of Greater Works we are looking and learning about working with God.

The work of the Lord is a super plus natural partnership between God and us.

God brings the supernatural aspect and He partners His supernatural with our natural to do His Works.

God has works to be done and if we don’t do it, who will. Jesus came to earth to start the works again what Adam and Eve and restore His work.

God walked and talked with Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. It was a partnership. No where we got Jesus and His crew. It’s a partnership. It takes a team effort.

KINGDOM PARTNERSHIP.

1. What is a partnership? An arrangement in which people engage in an activity or business with one another or share something with each other.

Partner: one associated with another especially in an action. One of two or more people who run a business together. A person who does or shares something with another. Either one of a married couple.

Partner speaks of a relationship working together, sharing together the work and responsibilities. So a partnership is a group of people in a relationship with a common goal, mission, vision that come together to work, build, service together.

Jesus would share the GoodNews of the Kingdom of God to people. Not just so they could get fire insurance, but to enlist them into His Partnership to spread the Good News of the Kingdom.

A PARTNERSHIP WAS MUCH MORE THAN A MERE BELIEF. THIS PARTNERSHIP INVOLVED A HUGE COMMITMENT.

YOU CAN NOT BE IN PARTNERSHIP WITHOUT THE COMMITTED RELATIONSHIP. THIS PARTNERSHIP INVOLVES DEEP COMMITMENT. THIS PARTNERSHIP INVOLVES GIVING UP THINGS FOR THE GREATER.

COMMITMENT: an agreement or promise to do something in the future. Synonyms like allegiance, devotion, dedication, faithfulness, fidelity, loyalty.

This partnership is much deeper than just a belief we say we believe.

COMMIT: to obligate or pledge oneself. It also express the general idea of delivering into another's charge or the special sense of transferring to a superior power or to a special place of custody.

We use the word committed when we place people in jails or mental institutions. The word is saying you are placed in the custody of a much higher power and authority. The difference in this commitment to Jesus is its YOUR CHOICE TO CHOOSE.

HE CALLS US BUT WE MUST MAKE THE CHOSE TO FOLLOW JESUS AND WE MUST CHOOSE OUR LEVEL OF COMMITMENT. THERE ARE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF COMMITMENT.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 AMP. “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]? You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body.”

This says when you get the revelation You we’re purchased by Jesus. He paid for us with His blood and life. We were slaves to sin and darkness. Jesus bought us and gave us the right to choose our level of commitment. He gives us our FREE WILL. YOU GET TO CHOOSE THE LIFE AND LIFESTYLE YOU WANT OR THE ONE HE HAS FOR YOU.

JESUS FED 5000 PEOPLE. 4980 CAME ONLY FOR THE FISH AND MAYBE A MIRACLE OR TWO. THEY CAME, THE RECEIVED, THEN WHEN JESUS MOVED FORWARD, THEY WENT BACK TO THIER NORMAL LIVES. JESUS GOT INTO A BOAT AND WENT TO THE OTHER SIDE. THE PEOPLE STOPPED AT THE SHORES, WAVED AND WENT HOME.

Side note. Those that did not follow forward with Jesus only kept a memory. Those that followed forward created DESTINY.

2. CREATING KINGDOM PARTNERSHIP

A. THE CALL.

Matthew 4:18 AMP. “As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He noticed two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.”

Matthew 4:19 AMP. “And He said to them, “Follow Me [as My disciples, accepting Me as your Master and Teacher and walking the same path of life that I walk], and I will make you fishers of men.”

THIS IS DEEPER THAN MOST CHRISTIANS REALIZE.

JESUS SAYS FOLLOW ME. FOLLOW ME AS MY DISCIPLES. DISCIPLE IS ONE WHO ACCEPTS JESUS AS YOUR MASTER AND TEACHER.

HERE IS THE ACTION OR DECISION WE MUST MAKE IN ORDER TO FOLLOW HIM. YOU ACCEPT HIM AS MASTER AND TEACHER BUT YOU MUST CHOOSE TO WALK THE SAME PATH OF LIFE THAT JESUS WALKED.

THEN HE SAYS HE WILL MAKE FISHERMEN INTO FISHERS OF MEN.

A CHRISTIAN IS JUST SOMEONE WHO SAYS THEY BELIEVE IN JESUS. THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BELIEVING AND BELIEVING THAT CAUSES YOU TO COMMIT AND FOLLOW AND BECOME HIS DISCIPLE. YOU CHOOSE HIS LIFE AND LIFESTYLE. YOU CHOOSE HIS WAY OVER YOURS OR THE CULTURES WAY.

THE CHURCH IS FULL OF CHRISTIANS WHO ARE GOOD PEOPLE HEADED FOR HEAVEN. THEY DON’T OR WON’T CHANGE THE WORLD. THEY WILL ONLY HAVE THE BASIC BELIEFS TO HELP THEM.

A DISCIPLE HAS BEEN CALLED AND RESPONDED WITH ACTION TO ACTIVELY FOLLOW AND CHOOSE TO LIVE THE JESUS LIFE THAT IS SCARY BUT REWARDING.

B. THE RESPONSE

Matthew 4:20 AMP. “Immediately they left their nets and followed Him [becoming His disciples, believing and trusting in Him and following His example].”

WHEN JESUS CALLS YOU HE DOES NOT WAIT ON YOU. HE CALLS AND MOVES. YOU MUST MAKE A CHOICE TO FOLLOW HIM OR STAY WHERE YOUR AT.

Point when He calls there are things You must leave or let go of in order to follow Him. This is why millions of Christians, a lot less disciples because the commitment is so much more than just believing. A lot of believers but not as many disciples.

3. KINGDOM PARTNERSHIP IN ACTION

PARTNERS IN PARTNERSHIPS INVOLVED IN THE ACTIONS OR WORK OF THE GOOD NEWS.

Luke 8:1-3 AMP. “Soon afterward, Jesus began going around from one city and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The twelve [disciples] were with Him, and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and diseases: Mary, called Magdalene [from the city of Magdala in Galilee], from whom seven demons had come out, and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s household steward, and Susanna, and many others who were contributing to their support out of their private means [as was the custom for a rabbi’s disciples].”

Luke 8:1-3 NCV. “After this, while Jesus was traveling through some cities and small towns, he preached and told the Good News about God’s kingdom. The twelve apostles were with him, and also some women who had been healed of sicknesses and evil spirits:

; Joanna, the wife of Cuza (the manager of Herod’s house); Susanna; and many others. These women used their own money to help Jesus and his apostles.”

We are here Jesus wants you choose to become a disciple and get involved in HIS BUSINESS. HERE IS A PROMISE THAT GOD SPOKE TO ME WHEN HE CALLED ME. HE TOLD ME, “ IF TAKE CARE OF HIS BUSINESS HE WOULD ALWAYS TAKE CARE OF MINE”

I committed my life and choose everyday to be a disciple working and building and expanding HIS KINGDOM.

A. preached and proclaimed GOOD NEWS OF THE KINGDOM.

B. 12 DISCIPLES WITH HIM. HE CALLED THEM. THEY CHOSE TO FOLLOW HIM FROM

A CALL ONLY. THE CALLED FROM A CALLING.

C. THE CALLED FROM A CHOICE OF PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.

D. ALSO SOME WOMEN. NOT JUST ANY WOMEN, SPECIAL WOMEN.

E. Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out. Delivered miracle.

She was so grateful for her healing and freedom she chose to follow Jesus and be a

Disciple.

F. Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s household steward. Joanna was a women of means

and influence. She held a very high social status. She was wealthy and a who’s who.

G. Susanna, a wealthy Jewish woman. Jesus brought these women and others into His

Inner circle to denounce the Jewish traditions of women's role in Gods Business.

and many others who were contributing to their support out of their private means [as was the custom for a rabbi’s disciples].”

and many others. These women used their own money to help Jesus and his apostles.”

AS WAS THE CUSTOM FOR A RABBI’S DISCIPLE.

EXPOUND

Matthew 4:19 AMP. “And He said to them, “Follow Me [as My disciples, accepting Me as your Master and Teacher and walking the same path of life that I walk], and I will make you fishers of men.”
