A Father’s Heart
Happy Fathers Day 2019
I think that of all the things I had the privilege of doing, I feel that being a Father is one of the greatest gifts given from God. It is a great gift and privilege with a huge responsibility attached to the assignment.
Fatherhood is an assignment from God to father his children and prepare them to do the same for their children.
I can say I love being a Father and a Grandfather. Play this video now.
What does having a Fathers Heart mean to you? This question a few fathers will share to the church.
Isaac Tilton, Joe Murillo, Jabar Miles, Joseph Lephiew
A fathers heart comes from God. It’s God heart inside of a father for his children.
When I was praying and searched for a lesson of the fathers heart here is what I got.
Lessons from a father:
Set the stage. Father has two sons. The name of the story is called the Prodigal son. Prodigal means: formal : carelessly and foolishly spending money, time, etc. To drive away, squander, : carelessly wasteful.
LUKE 15:12. “The younger of them [inappropriately] said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of the property that falls to me.’ So he divided the estate between them.” Son number 1 Give me what you owe me. See the heart and attitude of Son #1. Selfish, greedy, no honorable, only see the Father as someone who is to just give him what he wants and believed he deserves it.
I see the Fathers heart in the beginning of the story. Son demands and yet the Father gives.
GALATIANS 3:26. “For you [who are born-again have been reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified and] are all children of God [set apart for His purpose with full rights and privileges] through faith in Christ Jesus.”
Point: We are children of God who are born again, reborn from above, spiritually transformed renewed sanctified set apart for His purpose WITH FULL RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES. IF YOU HAVE BEEN BORN AGAIN BY GOD.
THE WAY GOD SEES US IS SO DIFFERENT FROM MOST PEOPLE BELIEF.
The son was selfish, greedy, only caring for himself but still the Father gave to him his inheritance. THE FATHER DOES NOT SEE HAS MAN SEES.
The Fathers heart is a giver even when you think the son does not deserve it. None of us really deserve Gods Gift but because of His heart we get it.
In order to see the Fathers Heart you must see how he treats His sons in this story. This younger son takes the wealth and blows it on wild parties and wild living. Soon he is completely broke and is working feeding pigs. The son is so low, for a Hebrew to be feeding pigs and trying to eat their food he is at his lowest point of life.
The Father lets him learn form his choices. Our Father God loves us and wants us to be blessed and succeed by letting us fall and fail. Fathers teach how to do the right things.
LUKE 15:17. “But when he [finally] came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have more than enough food, while I am dying here of hunger!”
God our Father is willing to let us learn the hard way if we choose to not to obey Him.
LUKE 11:28. “But He said, “On the contrary, blessed (happy, favored by God) are those who hear the word of God and continually observe it.”” THIS IS JESUS SPEAKING.
OBSERVE MEANS:to watch carefully, to act in agreement with, OBEY.
FATHERS HEART IS SOMETIMES TUFF LOVE TO LET US LEARN TO DO WHAT HE SAYS IN ORDER TO GET WHAT HE HAS PROMISED.
The younger son came to his senses. He woke up, he seen where he really was, he was enlightened. He is looking at his life and compares it to those who work for his father and his fathers employees have it so much better.
Many people will take for granted God, His Spirit, His Church, His Grace, His Love, His Blessings and God will let you go do your own thing to see how it really is. God will let you go, He Never will leave you nor will he forsake you, but He will let you go do your own way with the hope and desire YOU COME TO YOUR SENSES.
LUKE 15:18 “I will get up and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight.”
This is proof he came to his senses. POINT IS HE HAD TO GET UP AND GO TO THE FATHER. THE FATHER HEART WANTS YOU, BUT YOU MUST WANT HIM AND GET UP AND GO TO HIM.
LUKE 15:19. “I am no longer worthy to be called your son; [just] treat me like one of your hired men.” ’”
He comes to his senses about how messed he did but he does not really know his Father.
He sees his Father as someone who judge him as UNWORTHY TO BE HIS SON ANYMORE BECAUSE OF HIS SINS, MISTAKES, DISOBEDIENCE. THE SON BELIEVES HIS FATHER WILL EXCEPT HIM BACK AS AN EMPLOYE AND NOT A SON.
LUKE 15:20. “So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.”
SEE THE FATHERS HEART: Son got up and is moving back to His Father.
See the Father Heart: FATHER SAW HIM WHILE HE WAS STILL A LONG WAY OFF.
SEE THE FATHERS HEART: HE IS WAITING AND LOOKING FOR YOU TO COME HOME. NOT TO JUDGE YOU, NOT TO CONDEMN YOU BUT WHAT?
COMPASSION. FATHERS HEART HE WAS MOVED WITH COMPASSION.
COMPASSION MEANS: implies pity coupled with an urgent desire to aid or to spare to help. The Fathers Heart is really wanting to help, spare, fix, protect, etc. Most human would look at this and say forget the son. He blew it. Not THE FATHER HEART.
THE FATHER RAN, THE FATHER EMBRACED HIM, THE FATHER KISSED HIM. THIS IS NOT THE REACTION OF A FATHER JUDGMENT. THIS IS TRUELY THE FATHERS HEART.
LUKE 15:21. “And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’”
LOOK AT THE FATHERS HEART VERSE THE SONS. SEE HOW AMAZING GOD IS COMPARED TO US HUMANS.
FATHER GOD: COMPASSION, LOVE, MERCY, CARING, ETC. SON: UNWORTHY, IGNORANT, FOOLISH, ETC.
LUKE 15:22-24. “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quickly bring out the best robe [for the guest of honor] and put it on him; and give him a ring for his hand, and sandals for his feet. And bring the fattened calf and slaughter it, and let us [invite everyone and] feast and celebrate; for this son of mine was [as good as] dead and is alive again; he was lost and has been found.’ So they began to celebrate.”
In Search of Paco
There’s a Spanish story of a father and son who had become estranged. The son ran away, and the father set off to find him. He searched for months to no avail. Finally, in a last desperate effort to find him, the father put an ad in a Madrid newspaper. The ad read: Dear Paco, meet me in front of this newspaper office at noon on Saturday. All is forgiven. I love you. Your Father. On Saturday 800 Pacos showed up, looking for forgiveness and love from their fathers.
