Letting Go and Moving On

When you get on the news you can see what is happening around the United States and Abroad. I like to hear the weather reports. It goes like this.

One part of the country is in a heat wave. Another part of the country is rain and flooding. Another part of the country is in tornado alerts. Another part of the world is having typhoons.

The crazy part is they all are having storms from time to time. Our world is in a stormy time. We went from pandemic, to isolation to partial restrictions released and eased up. Then the protest started and our world is in a racial crisis. During these conflicting events we are now being quarantined again.

Storms after storms are beginning to pop up across America and the World.

Europe has said no Americans can vacation in Europe. Going back to the weather storms.

When a storm is approaching you must prepare for the storm. I lived on the east coast as a young person and when storms were coming we would have to get our family and house prepared. We boarded up windows and had sandbags for flooding. We had supplies of food and water and batteries and candles. We had backup generators.

I lived in the south with Tornadoes. We when we got the alarms were prepared for the storms.

No storm can last forever. It will never rain 365 days consecutively. Keep in mind that trouble comes to pass, not to stay. Don’t worry! No storm, not even the one in your life, can last forever.” – Iyanla Vanzant

“There is always a storm. There is always rain. Some experience it. Some live through it. And others are made from it.” – Shannon L. Alder

“You can be in the storm, but don’t let the storm get in you.” – Joel Osteen

“Storms draw something out of us that calm seas don’t.” – Bill Hybels

Mark 4:35-36 AMP
“On that [same] day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side [of the Sea of Galilee].” So leaving the crowd, they took Him with them, just as He was, in the boat. And other boats were with Him.”

Jesus and disciples were riding high. They had great meetings, healings, and well they were moving to go forward. They were pumped and excited about the move of God.

It says on that same day when even had come. Change. In life times and seasons change constantly. We don’t like things to change. We like things to stay the same forever. I believe God allows things to shake us up and shake up our world. Shaking up will wake you up.

This storm that is hitting our world is causing the church to wake up and get up and become active and not passive. It’s like being on a spiritual high. You can not stay on the top of the mountain. You must come down and back into the valley in order to get to the top of the next mountain.

Jesus said, “Let us go over to the other side [of the Sea of Galilee].”

Notice there is no storm as long as you stay on the safety of the shores. The moment they decided to Go to the other side here is where the storms start.

Many want change, many want increase, many want growth, but the key is go to the other side of where you are at now. The Sea of Galilee is what stands between where you at and where you want to be.

Something always stands between where you at and where Gods wants you to be. For the Israelites it was the Red Sea. For David and God’s people is was Goliath.

What will you have to cross in order to get to your other side. The storm is out there waiting for you and I to choose to cross over.

Joshua said, “Choose who you will serve as for me and I my family we will serve the Lord.”

We all will be faced with a choice. We all will have to make a choice. If we do not make a choice we have made a choice.

The fear of what we have to go through is what many times stops people from going to the other side. The unknown. We have so many unknown at the moment. We are all having to live really by faith, because we do not have much known for us today.

Jesus says let’s go to the other side.

Once you make a choice or decide to go forward across what stands in between you and what ‘God has for you.

SO LEAVING THE CROWD. Did you catch this phrase. This is where most people want to stay. The crowd was on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Jesus said in order to get to the other side they had to leave the crowd.

If you want something you have never had, you will have to do things you have never done. God is calling us to go to the other side of life.

Set up for the storm. They left the shore. They left the crowds. They chose to cross over to the other sides of the Sea of Galilee. They brought Jesus with them. Jesus is in the boat with them.

Where is Jesus? Jesus is with them. Before the storms of life hit, where is Jesus? He is in you. Where is He? HE IS IN YOU.

Hebrews 13:5b AMP
for He has said, “I WILL NEVER [under any circumstances] DESERT YOU [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], NOR WILL I FORSAKE or LET YOU DOWN or RELAX M Y HOLD ON YOU [assuredly not]!”

This is storm preparation. Where is the Lord before the storm? With us and in us. This is pre- storm.

They took Jesus with them. He is in the boat with them. And few other boats follow. Where is Jesus? In the boat with them. He said I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Mark 4:37 AMP “And a fierce windstorm began to blow, and waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was already being swamped.”

Having Jesus in your boat does not stop the storms. I said this for people who always question God why when the storms of life hit. Why not? Storms cleanse. Storms water and wash. Storms show where you have holes and leak.

Mark 4:38 AMP
“But Jesus was in the stern, asleep [with His head] on the [sailor’s leather] cushion. And they woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are about to die?””

Jesus is in the back of the boat below sleeping. The storm is beating the boat, but Jesus is asleep in the back of the boat with his head on a pillow.

Storm is massive and waves are coming over the side of the boat and Jesus is asleep in the back of the boat with his head on a pillow.

They woke Him up. They were scared and afraid so they woke Jesus up.

Look what they say to Him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are about to die?”

Jesus is in the boat with them. They are all in the storm together. Where is Jesus? He is in the storm with them. He is sleeping and they wake him up screaming in fear.

Do you not care that we are about to die? This is there statement when they woke him up.

If you going to be in a storm it is better to be in it with Jesus. Jesus sleeps while we freak out. Jesus sleeps while we are calling and waking up everyone we know to pray for us.

If Jesus was worried about them sinking He would lifted the boat to the shore. Jesus was not afraid or worried.

“And He got up and [sternly] rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still (muzzled)!” And the wind died down [as if it had grown weary] and there was [at once] a great calm [a perfect peacefulness].”
Mark 4:39 AMP

“Jesus said to them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith and confidence [in Me]?””
Mark 4:40 AMP

“They were filled with great fear, and said to each other, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?””
Mark 4:41 AMP
