passage from one state, stage, subject, or place to another : CHANGE
a movement, development, or evolution from one form, stage, or style to another
“Sometimes God brings times of transition to create transformation.”
“If transition isn’t painful then you aren’t making progress.”
“The future is always all around us, waiting, in moments of transitions, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.”
J. Michael Straczynski
“Your life is a story of transition. You are always leaving one chapter behind while moving on to the next.”
“When shifts and transitions shake you to the core, see that as a sign of greatness that’s about to occur.”
“If you already understand your purpose, are you prepared to change your plans to match God’s will? If you aren’t, you can easily become bitter because things that used to work for you may no longer work. Be willing to transition at every stage of your life. If your heart is open and you have an open mind, the blessing will flow.”
T. D. Jakes
Joshua 1: 6-11
After 40 years of wandering and setbacks the Israelites were ready and preparing to crossover into the promise land. This is period of transition. They are free from bondage from Egypt. But they wandered around not trusting God and His direction so they went around in circles for 40 years. The whole generation of people died in the wilderness. Joshua assumes leadership after the death of Moses. He is preparing them to transition into the new land and new life.
The key is to trust God and follow the leader.
Sometimes God will allow things to change around you to move you. The Israelites had become so comfortable when Joseph was alive. He had favor with God and the Pharaohs. When Joseph died so did his favor. Instead of moving they chose to stay.
Remember the prophet Elijah he prophesied drought no rain so God told him to stay by this river and the birds would fly in food for him for a season. Then something happened the river dried up and the birds did not bring anymore food. Time to move. God said I got a widow for your next season.
In staying their comfort and easy way of life turned into slavery and bondage. When God wants you to move and you don’t you will see things around you turn for the worst.
God is shouting move, move on, move forward. Why is it so hard to change and move? We get so used to things staying the same.
Comfortable. Comfort and security. We like things to stay the same.
When things stay the same we stop growing and progress never happens.
You look at what most people call their most comfortable clothes or shoes are all old and worn out. You can’t even go into public with your comfortable clothes because they are so old and worn out looking. Pressure starts to increase because they did not change and move.
“Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do [everything] in accordance with the entire law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may prosper and be successful wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:7 AMP
Moving involves a choice. Most people will stay the same even if it is not healthy or good. They were slaves in bondage being used and abused, but they cried to God for change but resisted it with every challenge.
Cry for change God shows up and says trust me and follow my man. Forget it. Easy just to stay the same and complain.
You can’t have change without pain. Change and moving and growing all will come with pain, struggle and hardships at times.
Tell a woman having a baby is so sweet and beautiful and painless. No Pain.
I have heard the blood curdling screams of pain in child birth.
It is hard and painful birthing a baby.
God tells Joshua, Only be strong and very courageous. He tells him to be strong because he is going to have plenty of opportunities to be weak. He will be faced with challenges that will challenge everything within him to quit and give up.
God knows the challenges we will face in order to get to where God has and is calling you. He knows the path of your life and journey. He sees your beginning to your end and all the end between.
God seen the generation of people who would not change, He seen the complainers and whiners and those who would not trust Him. He sees you, are you willing to change and move forward into your promised land.
God raised up Joshua for the second generation to help and lead them to crossover into the promised land.
Preparation is key to change and moving. God is getting Joshua ready so he can ready the people. We just ended a 21 day fasting and prayer. God was preparing me to lead our church out of our wilderness. We will face testings, challenges, oppositions.
We have had building and owners say no we don’t want a church hear. We have been lifted up only to be deflated with hope. It seemed it was getting so dark around me. The stress and pressure seemed so heavy on me at times. I could not sleep. I would wake up at 1 or 2 in the morning praying and fighting thoughts of fear and anxiety over the transition.
Basically God said DO EVERYTHING THAT IS SPOKEN IN MY WORD. DO WHAT I SAY AND SAY WHAT I SAY. OBEY MY WORD. TRUST ME, BELIEVE IN ME, FOLLOW ME, LOVE ME, SERVE ME.
GOD SAYS DO NOT TURN (FROM IT) TO RIGHT OR LEFT.
IT is the word, the key word. Do not turn from IT. IT is the Word of God. Whatever God has spoken we are not to get distracted and side tracked and wander from His Truths.
Runners must train to run and keep their eyes and head looking forward. To look at the runners to the right or left of them causes them to slow down and loose their stride which cause them to fall, slow down, kick themselves and fall and fail.
Fear has no place in our lives. Fear has no place to live in us.
Fear caused them to settle and stay in bondage and not grow and become who they were supposed to become. They were supposed to be free land owner and worshipers of God. Instead they with fear became slaves in bondage and abused and living in another’s land.
SO YOU MAY PROSPER AND BE SUCCESSFUL WHEREVER YOU GO.
PROSPER IN THE HEBREW IS SAW-KAL WHICH MEANS TO BE, MAKE OR ACT CIRCUMSPECT. INTELLIGENT AND WISE.
CIRCUMSPECT: thinking carefully about possible risks before doing or saying something, careful to consider all circumstances and possible consequences.
”If you are circumspect, you think carefully before doing or saying anything. A good quality in someone entrusted with responsibility.”
Vince Lombardi Quotes:
We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible.
Individual commitment to a group effort – that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.
Football is a great deal like life in that it teaches that work, sacrifice, perseverance, competitive drive, selflessness and respect for authority is the price that each and every one of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile.
