Take Joy In The Midst

Sermon Notes

Last week we looked at Taking Heart and Trusting God. We began to look at Davids life and seen the ups and downs the victories as well as the tragedies that happened to him and those he loved and led.

We must understand that challenges, hardships, failure, even tragedies will happen in our lives but they are not final.

I remember reading a book many years ago entitled, “Success is never ending and failure is never final.” It was so encouraging to me to realize that stuff happens to all of us. As a child of God when stuff happens it is never to break us, or punish us, but to strengthen us and empower us to grow and increase in our faith and beliefs in God. God is preparing you and I for more. For More. All of this is FOR MORE. FOR MORE

“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.”
1 Samuel 30:6 KJV

Everything David had been through was to prepare him for what God had planned for Him. GOD HAS A PLAN FOR ME AND MY LIFE. YOU ARE LIVING IN THE PLAN.

WHEN CONSTRUCTION BEGINS MANY TIMES YOU HAVE TO HAVE DECONSTRUCTION BEFORE YOU CONSTRUCT. MANY TIMES THE THINGS WE GO THUR ARE ABOUT TEARING DOWN, TAKING APART, DEMOLITION TO THE THINGS THAT WILL NOT WORK IN OUR LIFE FOR THE MORE TIME.

David went through some pretty challenging times and yet God was with him. It did not seem like it to David.
Many times when you are in the middle of the storm you only see and hear the storm. You have to shift in your training. You have to move from looking and seeing and doing life by what you see and move to inside to what you hear and what you believe as faith. It is when the storms, battles are so intense that we feel God is so far from us. Really He is so much closer that you think.

David moved from they want to stone me and kill me to I am going to run to God and ENCOURAGE MYSELF IN THE LORD MY GOD.

David first went to natural, he moved in to fear, frustration. David was greatly distressed. They talked of stoning him. His soul is grieved.

“BUT DAVID ENCOURAGED HIMSELF IN THE LORD.”

Last week we learned how to TAKE HEART, THIS WEEK ITS LEARNING HOW TO TAKE JOY. WHAT YOU TAKE IS WHAT YOU GET AND IT IS HOW YOU WILL LIVE.

Rejoicing is the action of joy.

“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;” Romans 12:12 KJV

“Be joyful because you have hope. Be patient when trouble comes, and pray at all times.” Romans 12:12 NCV

“constantly rejoicing in hope [because of our confidence in Christ], steadfast and patient in distress, devoted to prayer [continually seeking wisdom, guidance, and strength],” ROMANS 12:12 AMP

Here is our instruction of How to Take Joy In the Midst

1. Rejoicing is the action of Joy. How by doing joy because you don’t just have hope but IN
HOPE.

Our life is to be joyful because it is to be Hopeful. Our hope or EXPECTATION IS ABOUT JESUS AND ETERNITY. ITS ABOUT HOLY SPIRIT AND HIS POWER.

I CAN BE JOYFUL BECAUSE MY LIFE IS MORE THAN WHAT I AM GOING THRU AT THE MOMENT.

IT IS WHEN THE MOMENTS OF YOUR LIFE IN YOUR MIND BECOME FOREVER OVERSHADOWING YOUR FUTURE.

“Crying may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalms 30:5 NCV

You will never live the action of Joy if you are living by what you see. Joy comes from within. It comes from a relationship with YOUR GOD. If God is for me what or who can be against me.

If you know that God is your God and your help, a very present help in the times of need. You will live with JOY, power, purpose, victory.

The action of JOY coming from a strong faith in your God that you know without a shadow of doubt He is With YOU. You will move in action of JOY to PATIENTS.

PATIENTS WHEN TROUBLE COMES. TROUBLE COMES NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE. THINGS COME BUT REMEMBER THEY ARE TO MOVE YOU INTO MORE.

DOING THE ACTION OF JOY CAUSES YOU TO BE PATIENT IN THE TRIAL AND CAUSES YOU TO KEEP PRAYING.
PRAYING IS NOT BEGGING GOD, OR PLEADING WITH GOD. THIS PRAYER IS PRAISING AND SEEKING GODS WISDOM AND GUIDANCE IN YOUR NEXT MOVE. WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO GOD?

DAVID WHEN TO THIS PLACE AND SOUGHT GOD FOR HIS DIRECTION AND GUIDANCE. BE JOYFUL BE PATIENT BE PRAYING.
NOTICE JOY IS THE KEY TO PATIENCE AND THE KEY TO CONSISTENT PRAYER. IT STARTS WITH JOY. WHAT IS THE OPPOSITE OF JOY? IF YOU LEAD OR START WITH THAT AND CONTINUE YOU WILL NOT BE PATIENT NOR WILL YOU BE CONSISTENT IN PRAYER.

I CAN HOPE BECAUSE I BELIEVE GOD IS WITH ME, HE WILL NEVER LEAVE ME AND HE WILL SEE ME THROUGH TO OTHER SIDE OF MORE.

I AM BEING MOVED TO MORE. I AM BEING MOVED TO MORE. IT IS PAINFUL, IT IS HARD, I DO NOT LIKE THIS PROCESS BUT IT FOR MY INCREASE AND PROMOTION. GOD IS IN CHARGE OF MY LIFE IF I LET HIM BE.

YOU CAN STOP THE PROCESS WHEN YOU MOVE FROM JOY JESUS, OTHERS, YOU TO YOJ WHICH IS YOU, OTHERS AND JESUS LAST.

“Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18 AMP

“Always be joyful. Pray continually, and give thanks whatever happens. That is what God wants for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NCV

VERY SIMILAR TO ROMANS 12:12

Rejoice, always be joyful. It did not say anything about what is going on in your life. It is not joy when life is great. It is joy when you are moving from inside with God to change the way you see your outside situation. Joy comes from inside out living.

Feeling and emotions living is from outside in living. This is where your happiness is dependent upon what is going on. Good your good, bad your bad and mad.

This is instruction for your living and life. Rejoice, unceasing in prayer, being thankful, giving thanks not based on what is happening around you.

THIS IS GODS WILL FOR YOU. I JUST WANT TO KNOW GODS WILL. HERE YOU GO.

“I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace while you trust in him. Then your hope will overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13 NCV
