God Is With You, PERIOD.

SERMON NOTES

When we have struggles or challenges or even when we fail or fall, we usually wonder Where Is God. When we are being overwhelmed or attacked Where is God?

The other question after wondering where was God, is why God did you allow this?

Where are you and why are you allowing this or why are you not stopping this pain and hurt? Where & Why is our biggest questions when going through it.

We all feel God when life is great. The sun is shining, a light breeze is blowing, birds are singing, and it’s 75 degrees. Life is amazing right. We shout out how Good God Is.

But when we are hit with trials, attacks, storms, where is our faith? Where is our joy? Where is our focus?

I remember reading different journalist writings after 911. Where was God? Why did God allow this? I did realize most of our world has no thought of God no desire for God till something tragic happens.

Many do not recognize God in the midst of their situations and circumstances because they do not recognize God period.

GOD IS ALWAYS THERE. GOD IS ALWAYS HERE. GOD IS ALWAYS NEAR. GOD IS ALWAYS NOW. GOD IS ALWAYS PRESENT.

When stuff hits the fan we do not recognize God because our focus is on the stuff. When our focus and attention is all on what we are going thru, we increase the power of the negative experience.

You can read in the Bible about so many people when things got really crazy who they kinda fell apart. David lost it for a bit when Saul was after him trying to kill him. David ran, hid, acted like a crazy man and insane then goes to live on the Philistines homeland, the enemy of God.

You can read all through Psalms where David is begging God where are you, why are letting these God hates destroy me. There are those two questions WHERE YOU AT, AND WHY YOU LETTING THIS HAPPEN TO ME?

“How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long must I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart day after day? How long will my enemy exalt himself and triumph over me? Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; Give light (life) to my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death, And my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” And my adversaries will rejoice when I am shaken. But I have trusted and relied on and been confident in Your lovingkindness and faithfulness; My heart shall rejoice and delight in Your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.”
PSALMS 13:1-6 AMP

This is David where he feels at his lowest point in life. David feels like God abandoned him. I said he feels like it, not that God really did. This is Davids Cave Time.

Remember YOU MOVE IN THE DIRECTION OF YOUR MOST DOMINATE THOUGHTS. WHAT YOU THINK, FEEL, SPEAK YOU DO.

Cave Time is a dirty old cold and damp cave with nothing nice or pretty. He was run out of the Palace. He had power, he had authority, he had wealth, he had respect and position, he had power, he had a wife. Here now he has nothing. Not really God has him so he has God.

CAVE TIME DAVID LOST IT ALL. IT IS ALL GONE. THIS IS WHAT HE IS FEELING. HE FEELS ALONE, ABANDONED BY HIS GOD. HE WAS AT THE VERY TOP OF EVERYTHING. HE FELT LIKE GOD LIFTED HIM UP SO HIGH. HE WAS RIDING HIGH AND THEN ITS ALL GONE. BROKE, LOST, HURTING AND ALONE.

WE ALL WILL HAVE THOSE TIMES, CAVE TIMES. HE IS CRYING TO GOD, HE IS JUST CRYING. GOING THRU HELL AND FEELING ALL ALONE.

WHEN YOUR HURTING YOU CAN’T SEE GOD OR FEEL GOD BECAUSE ALL YOU REALLY FEEL AT FIRST IS THE PAIN AND HURT AND LOSS. YOU FEEL WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE TO FOCUS ON. WHAT EVER GETS YOUR FOCUS, TIME, ENERGY.

THIS IS NOT THE ONLY THING THAT IS RECORDED ABOUT DAVID AND HIS PAIN. HE WOULD CRY, COMPLAIN, GET MAD AND UPSET, AND THEN TRY TO PULL HIMSELF OUT OF IT BY REMEMBERING GOD.

“But I have trusted and relied on and been confident in Your lovingkindness and faithfulness; My heart shall rejoice and delight in Your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.”
PSALMS 13:5-6 AMP

REMEMBER LAST WEEK HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF FLESH AND SPIRIT. WE ALL GO FLESH OR HUMAN WHEN IT HAPPENS. WE HURT BUT YOU CAN’T STAY HURTING. WE ALL GO THRU TIMES OF BETRAYAL BUT YOU CAN’T STAY THERE.
YOU CAN’T STAY BITTER.

PEOPLE WHO HOLD BITTERNESS OR ANGER OR HATRED PUT A WEDGE BETWEEN THEM AND GOD. THE WEDGE IS IN THEIR MINDS. THEY CAN’T FEEL GOD OR SENSE GOD BECAUSE YOU BECOME SO HUMAN YOU CAN’T FEEL GOD ANYMORE.

“A calm and peaceful and tranquil heart is life and health to the body, But passion and envy are like rottenness to the bones.”
PROVERBS 14:30 AMP

“A sound mind makes for a robust body, but runaway emotions corrode the bones.”
Proverbs 14:30 MSG

When stuff happens if you are spiritually prepared you will fall apart and get beat up and many do not get back up. This one of the reasons we come to church and get committed so we can train and learn how to grow stronger so when things happen we are prepared. We will step into Spirit and win.

David was so in spirit and so relied on God that Goliath’s was nothing to him. His faith was so much larger that fear had no room and the enemy could not affect him. A giant that no man would face not even King Solomon.

Now King Solomon is his adversary and David falls apart. He was not prepared any more for spiritual warfare. He was not prepared to face opposition. He was not prepared anymore. Maybe he got a little to weak in all of his success.

“and shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: you are advancing today to battle against your enemies. Do not lack courage. Do not be afraid, or panic, or tremble [in terror] before them, for the LORD your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’”
DEUTERONOMY 20:3-4 AMP

“Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble in dread before them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.”” DEUTERONOMY 31:6
“It is the LORD who goes before you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you. Do not fear or be dismayed.””

DEUTERONOMY 31:8 AMP
