Purpose of Boot Camp

There is a breakdown of the Church Jesus died for and created.

When you speak about becoming a member of a church or getting committed to church
people’s expressions change. Everybody says they believe in God but but not very many
believe in His Church. 90% of Americans believe in a higher power. 56% people believe in the
God in the Bible. Research says really 20% would be considered regular church attenders,
attending at least 3 services out of 8 weeks. Christians gave more during the Great Depression
than today. 20% of the people in church give regular. The research says the giving decline is
due to inconsistent church attendance.

God has ordained the church, a fellowship of the flawed, to carry out his purpose and will in the
world. When we consider the biblical teaching on the church, we realize the church is vitally
important for growing in Christ. Like a branch that grows because of its connection to the tree,
we thrive when we stay connected to the church.

I see the church as a tree, but all around it are fallen leaves and branches. They have become
disconnected. We are here to as Jesus said to reattach them to Him.

“But if some of the branches were broken off, and you [Gentiles], being like a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among them to share with them the rich root of the olive tree,”
ROMANS 11:17 AMP

Grafted is a term, where you take two different things and put them together and they grow as one. Plants, skin two with exposed area that are joined together to grow as one.

Moses in the first testament was called by God to build the Tabernacle a portable giant tent that
represented the Presence of God dwelling in the middle of HIS people. The tabernacle and later the temple were the places where God ordained the sacrifices to be carried out and the festivals
to be celebrated. The tabernacle and temple functioned as the central place of instruction and
teaching about God and his will for Israel. From the tabernacle and temple, Israel sounded forth
loud and joyful psalms of praise and worship to God.

Let’s move the second testament or New Testament. Jesus is crucified died and resurrection occur. The church as we know it was established. The disciples were given instructions from Jesus. The Bible is recorded of those instructions.

Jesus gave the church its mission after His Resurrection.

“Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on
earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people
to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded
you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance,
and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.””
MATTHEW 28:18-20 AMP

Here is the birthing of the church today with its mission from Jesus.

Where is this taking place? The local church.

Go make disciples of all nations-(HELP THE PEOPLE TO LEARN OF ME, BELIEVE IN ME, AND OBEY MY WORDS).

BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF FATHER, AND OF THE SON AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE EVERYTHING THAT I HAVE COMMANDED YOU.

MAKE DISCIPLES, HELP THE PEOPLE TO LEARN, BELIEVE IN AND OBEY HIS WORDS.

BAPTIZING THEM, TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE EVERYTHING THAT I HAVE COMMANDED YOU.

WHERE DOES THIS HAPPEN. IN THE LOCAL CHURCH.

THIS IS THE GREAT COMMISSION. THIS IS THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH.

THE CHURCH WAS VERY IMPORTANT IN THE DAYS OF MOSES.

JESUS COMES AND BEFORE HE IS TAKEN UP HE LEAVES INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE THE BUILDING OF THE CHURCH.

After the Pentecost the birthing of the church was established and Jesus left it to His Disciples. Peter assembled them at the directions of Jesus who said pray and wait for my Father God will send another who will fill you, help you, empower you, guide you, with the Holy Spirit.

The were assembled as a church in the upper room when the Holy Spirit came down and filled them and empowered them. Here is where the church changed from weak to strong and empowered.

Notice it was the assembling together as the church.

They are not connected and fulfilling what Jesus said is our mission.

There is a devaluing of belonging to a local body, church. Many people just wake and go if they feel like it. Here is what is really happening. They have no real power, they have no real guidance, they are empty and dry of spirit and lacking any real authority.

Children are growing up in homes where God is not honored and is supreme. There is this push to down grade the church and commitment to the local church. I hear people say a lot, I believe in God but not in organized religion. They are talking about the local church. This goes against the very Word of God.

“not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching.”
HEBREWS 10:25 AMP

How do you do this if you do not attend or committed to a local church?

“Obey your [spiritual] leaders and submit to them [recognizing their authority over you], for they are keeping watch over your souls and continually guarding your spiritual welfare as those who will give an account [of their stewardship of you]. Let them do this with joy and not with grief and groans, for this would be of no benefit to you.”
HEBREWS 13:17 AMP

How do you do this if you do not attend or committed to a local church?
“For, in the first place, when you meet together in church, I hear that there are divisions among you; and in part I believe it,”

1 CORINTHIANS 11:18 AMP

How do you do this if you do not attend or committed to a local church?

“And [His gifts to the church were varied and] He Himself appointed some as apostles [special messengers, representatives], some as prophets [who speak a new message from God to the people], some as evangelists [who spread the good news of salvation], and some as pastors and teachers [to shepherd and guide and instruct], [and He did this] to fully equip and perfect the saints (God’s people) for works of service, to build up the body of Christ [the church];”
EPHESIANS 4:11-12 AMP

How do you do this if you do not attend or committed to a local church? I believe you can be born again and go to Heaven without being apart of the local church.

Salvation is not a church thing.

I believe that Christ created the church and structure to help us grow and fulfill His vision on the earth. But you will not do that without the church. Why would God have Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers for the church and not expect you as a believer to go and grow.

Why would He say you are here to be equipped and built up for the works of service, to build up the church?

Many people will not reap the benefits of the power of the local church because of what they believe that is not in the word of God.

“Then [in the final time] I will give you [spiritual] shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and [true] understanding.”
JEREMIAH 3:15 AMP

How do you do this if you do not attend or committed to a local church?

Paul when he writes uses different words to describe the church. He calls the church the Household of God, the family of God. He refers to the church as a building. The church is referred to as a flock of sheep. He refers to the church as Christs Body. He even calls the church the Bride of Christ, the church is like a marriage.

This is community, this is belonging, this is a commitment TILL DEATH WE PART.

“Again I say to you, that if two believers on earth agree [that is, are of one mind, in harmony] about anything that they ask [within the will of God], it will be done for them by My Father in
heaven. For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I
am there among them.”

MATTHEW 18:19-20 AMP

This does not replace the church, this is the power of the church. Power in unified believing and prayer. This shows the power of believers who are apart of all the others scriptures I shared.

Why do you think the government demands we send our kids to school? We parents make sure our kids go to school, why? We feel their futures, success, happiness, prosperity, everything is depending upon learning and growing.

How much more the church?
