Your Mind For Action

SERMON NOTES

I began to sense this 2019 is going to be an Amazing Year. God would whisper to me to get ready. To get me ready to get the church ready. The word He kept speaking to me as we neared the end of 2018 was Preparation.

Preparation over and over God would speak this word and thought to me. Dr. Kelvin Smith came and in my home he spoke a few minutes to our group that came to prayer at my house. I told him the word God had spoken to me, Preparation. He then began to prophesy the word Acceleration. It was if God was giving us the Word for 2019.

Preparation For Acceleration. Kelvin had spoke the word acceleration and then put them together. This is our Theme for 2019. PREPARATION FOR ACCELERATION.

PREPARATION FOR ACCELERATION

PREPARATION: : the action or process of making something ready for use or service or of getting ready for some occasion, test, or duty.

Action and or Process of making ready for use.

ACCELERATION: : the act or process of moving faster or happening more quickly, the act or process of speeding up.

PREPARATION FOR ACCELERATION IS SPEEDING UP MOVING FASTER THE ACTION OR PROCESS OF MAKING SOMETHING READY FOR USE OR SERVICE.

PREPARATION BEGINS WITH PREPARING YOUR MIND FOR ACTION:

1 PETER 1:13 AMP
“So prepare your minds for action, be completely sober [in spirit–steadfast, self-disciplined, spiritually and morally alert], fix your hope completely on the grace [of God] that is coming to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

In God He wants to speed us up. He wants to move us faster and farther. God wants to do supernatural things in us and for us at a speed that is not normal. Like when you are driving the car at 30 mph and then you hit the accelerator. You push the pedal to floor board and you move from 30 to 75 mph much faster. You will end up at your destination much faster than if you were going 30 mph.

You were born to win, but to be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win.
Zig Ziglar

The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.
Malcolm X

I will prepare and some day my chance will come.
Abraham Lincoln

You have the ability to choose which way you want to go. You have to believe great things are going to happen in your life. Do everything you can – prepare, pray and achieve – to make it happen. Ben Carson

Prepare your mind for action.

1 PETER 1:13 AMP
“So prepare your minds for action, be completely sober [in spirit–steadfast, self-disciplined, spiritually and morally alert], fix your hope completely on the grace [of God] that is coming to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

So prepare your minds for action. You wont have action if your mind is not prepared for action. When I was in the military they had drills over and over to prepare us for enemy attacks, for fires, accidents, etc.

They would put us in situations to see how we would respond or react.
If your mind is not prepared for action when an opportunity comes your way you will self sabotage it.

If the enemy sets up an attack on your soul, family, finances etc. if your mind is not prepared for action you will fail.

COLOSSIANS 3:2 AMP
“Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value].”

God said prepare your minds for action. When things happen, trials, attacks, you will find your mind getting distracted. A distracted mind is open for destruction.

If the mind of a pilot is not ready he will crash the plane when challenges arise.

I see many people get saved and get so excited but because their mind is prepared for action they give in, give up and loose all that God has for them.

In everything it is mind over matter. If the mind is not prepared for action the body will do anything right.

1 PETER 1:13 AMP
“So prepare your minds for action, be completely sober [in spirit–steadfast, self-disciplined, spiritually and morally alert], fix your hope completely on the grace [of God] that is coming to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

How to prepare your minds for action? Colossians 3:2 is the key, set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above the heavenly things. Heavenly not temporal.

When our minds are so into what is going on with earth things we are open for defeat. Success, real success is when your head and heart are focused on Jesus and Heavenly things first. Not your money, not your business, not your problems or challenges.

GODS WORD SAYS BE COMPLETELY SOBER.

THIS IS NOT TALKING ABOUT ALCOHOL. THIS IS A MENTALITY OR MINDSET A WAY OF BELIEVING.

WHEN YOUR NOT SOBER YOU ARE INTOXICATED. INTOXICATED IS WHEN YOU DO NOT HAVE CONTROL OF YOUR SELF, SPEECH, THINKING, BEHAVIOR, ETC. DRUNK.

Have you ever been so drunk? No one wants to remember, but remember. You had no control. You don’t remember anything. You are a mess. You can’t protect yourself. Drunk in your mindsets or mentality.

YOU SEE THE WORD TOXIC WHICH MEANS: containing, being, or caused by poisonous or dangerous material.

Intoxicated means you are filled with toxins which are poison and hazardous to your health, your mental health.

You can be filled with intoxicating thoughts and beliefs which cause you to stumble, blurry your destiny, your faith is confused and you are falling and can’t walk straight.
Negative, fearful, ugly thoughts are trying to destroy your life.

Thoughts of defeat, worry, bitterness, unforgivness, hatred, jealousy, poverty, selfishness, are all toxic thoughts.

What kind of action will you do with these types of thoughts filling your mind??

We are talking about preparation for acceleration. PREPARE YOUR MIND FOR ACTION, BE COMPLETELY SOBER.

SOBER—-IN SPIRIT—WHEN YOUR MIND AND THINKING IS NOT RIGHT NEITHER IS YOUR SPIRIT. YOU SHIFT FROM SPIRIT TO FLESH. FEAR IS IN CONTROL WHILE FAITH SITS CRYING ON THE COUCH.

THIS IS BEING SOBER.

STEADFAST: firmly fixed in place : IMMOVABLE
: not subject to change: firm in belief, determination, or adherence: very devoted or loyal to a person, belief, or cause : not changing

SELF DISCIPLINE: : correction or regulation of oneself for the sake of improvement: the ability to make yourself do things that should be done.

SPIRIT & MORALLY
ALERT: a state of careful watching and readiness especially for danger or opportunity: : able to think clearly and to notice things: to give (someone) important information about a possible problem, danger, etc. : to warn (someone) to make (someone) aware of something:to make aware of a need to get ready or take action : WARN

“So then, have your minds ready for action. Keep alert and set your hope completely on the blessing which will be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. Be obedient to God, and do not allow your lives to be shaped by those desires you had when you were still ignorant. Instead, be holy in all that you do, just as God who called you is holy. The scripture says, “Be holy because I am holy.””
1 Peter 1:13-16 GNT
