Moving From Fear to Freedom

SERMON NOTES

Moving from Fear to Freedom is our kick off message this month.

The movie BraveHeart where he yells out Freedom. They were enslaved to a ruthless ruler. They got tired of being abused, they got tired of everything be taken away and living in lack. They knew they were not supposed to be living like this.

God made us with this unique quality of God Himself. We were made to live with power and authority. We when we live weak, sick, poor, powerless, abused we don’t feel right. It goes against everything that God created in us. It goes against who we were created to be. Depression, sickness, fearful, weakness, broken, condemnation, guilty, stuck these are symptoms that were never supposed to be ours.

God compares Himself with only two animals in the Bible. The eagle and the lion. The lion is called the King of the Jungle. The elephant is larger, stronger. When a lion and elephant meet the lion sees the elephant as lunch so because of how he believes he will eat the elephant. The elephant is much larger and stronger but when they meet he sees himself as the lions lunch so he reacts based on his belief. The lion is not the smartest or strongest but he does BELIEVE HE IS THE KING OF JUNGLE. WHAT YOU BELIEVE, REALLY BELIEVE IS HOW YOU WILL BE, DO AND LIVE.

God said in the beginning we, you and i were created in His Image, male and female after His likeness. That means that Gods qualities and characteristics are within us. God made man to rule, to control and dominate. He gave us power to create and make, build and succeed.

God gave Adam and Eve the power, position, responsibility, authority, to rule. Genesis 1:26-31
Authority, power, ruler ship, control, etc.

God created us to rule, to have power and control and authority have dominion.

God gave Adam and Eve all this power, authority, etc. but they did not control, they did not live in power, they did not live out their authority. WHY????????? TO HAVE ALL OF THIS POWER, POTENTIAL, AND STILL FAIL AND NOT LIVE IN FREEDOM.

What the enemy did to them he does to many of Gods Children. He causes Gods children to trade or swap Gods truth for a human lie. CAUSES US TO TRADE OR SWAP GODS SUPERNATURAL TRUTH FOR a natural human lie. If the enemy can get you to trade Gods Truth for Satans lie he will deceive you into believing a lie. Truth will set you free, but a lie will deposed you, defeat you, demean you, destroy you.

This is how Satan deceived Adam and Eve. Satan kept challenging their faith and belief in God by asking did God really say that or mean that. He got them to doubt God and Gods Word.He got them to think and believe in their doubts and fears instead of Gods Word and Faith. If God promised us things but you don’t know what you got and what you are entitled to you can easily believe a lie.

He tried the same tricks on Jesus, but Jesus knew the Word of God. Three different times Satan tried to trick Jesus into not trusting and believing God at His Word. FACTS OR TRUTH. FACT IS YOUR SICK, TRUTH IS JESUS BORE YOUR SICKNESS. FACT IS YOU FAILED AND ARE, TRUTH IS GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN ME THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD.

John 8:36. “So if the Son makes you free, then you are unquestionably free.”
It says Son makes you free, then you are free.
“If the Son sets you free, then you will be really free.”
John 8:36 GNT

We are really going to kick it off, kick it out of your life. Kick it off your life, kick it out of your family. God purchased Freedom for all of us.

Freedom this is like Jesus because of what He did on the cross and grave and resurrection He defeated death, hell and grave. He purchased our freedom and gave us the keys to freedom. He came to our self imposed prisons and unlocked the doors and said you are free to go and live your life.

The freedom is purchased but why do so many of Gods people still do live in this true freedom? We are free, yet still our failures, sins, mistakes, hurts, wounds, struggles over and over keep us stuck. We should be living in Victory, Jesus paid it, yet we still live stuck. We are His children.
What you don’t know is hurting you, keeping your life the same. Many struggle and struggle and don’t seem to get ahead or experience true freedom.

Here is i believe the battle.THE LINE BETWEEN VICTORY AND FAILURE. THE LINE BETWEEN BLESSED OR CURSED. THE LINE BETWEEN SUCCESSFUL AND ACHIEVER OR MEDIOCRE.

“Jesus said to him, “[You say to Me,] ‘If You can?’ All things are possible for the one who believes and trusts [in Me]!” Immediately the father of the boy cried out [with a desperate, piercing cry], saying, “I do believe; help [me overcome] my unbelief.””
MARK 9:23-24 AMP

We quote this scripture all things are possible for the one who believes and trusts in Me(Jesus).
We know this we say this, but yet this in real life is where i think we get stuck. We believe that with God all things are possible in our mind. But when we are faced with a tragedy or challenge or attack, failure, loss we go into fear, doubt, unbelief mode.

The father said, I do believe, help me overcome my unbelief. What he is saying that there is belief and unbelief both battling within him.
We have faith and fear, doubt and unbelief all battling within us everyday of our lives.

The father knew the words of Jesus, but his eyes and mind kept seeing his son and the sick, weak condition he was in. We are going back and forth in our minds what to believe.

We quote the scripture give the advice and yet when we are faced with the choices when we are in the battle, what do we really believe? What you really believe is heard in your words, and seen in your actions.

WHAT YOU REALLY TRULLY BELIEVE IS HEARD IN YOUR WORDS AND YOUR ACTIONS OR WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO DO.

“So faith comes from hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ.”
ROMANS 10:17 AMP

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Romans 10:17 KJV

The father did have a measure of faith, but he was so filled with fear, doubt and unbelief because he was so focused on the symptoms of his son and not the words of God.

You will live by what you see and believe to be the facts or by what God said in faith. One you get what you are afraid of, scared of or fearful of or you get what God said, what God promised, what spoke is yours.

FREEDOM: the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved.

Our faith many times gets imprisoned and enslaved to our fears, doubts and worries. When your faith is imprisoned and enslaved then the worst is free to destroy your life, family, dreams, carries, destiny, etc.

“The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can [mere] man do to me?”
PSALM 118:6 AMP

“The LORD is on my side. I am not afraid. What can mortals do to me?”
Psalms 118:6 GW

MORTAL: doomed to die, death.

“And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.” ROMANS 8:11 AMP

Mortal is human who does not live in the supernatural. They live in the natural. His spirit lives in us who believe.

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. But all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ [making us acceptable to Him] and gave us the ministry of reconciliation [so that by our example we might bring others to Him], that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them [but canceling them]. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation [that is, restoration to favor with God].”
2 CORINTHIANS 5:17-19 AMP

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].”
2 TIMOTHY 1:7 AMP
