More of Him, Less of Me

Sermon Notes

We started a 21 day fast January 8th. The fast we chose was to bring a Spiritual Release in our church and lives. My prayer is that this fast will set us free, fill up with a newness of God and His purpose for our lives. Restore broken areas of our lives. Heal what is sick or weak in our hearts and lives. God lift us up all of us up.

I encouraged everyone to join us as a Destiny Center church family. I have heard amazing reports of how God is working.

I hear people say all the time I don’t have to do this or that, I love God in my heart. He knows my heart.

We are fasting. Fasting is denying your flesh or self something you desire in order to get closer to God, to become more in tune with God, to sacrifice in order to increase in God areas of your life. Fasting is a sacrifice but beyond sacrifice it is obedience. Fasting is a physical act. I chose a liquid fast, water and little juice that is it. I desire a Spiritual Release in my life and the life of this church.

There is something about you doing a physical act of obedience that brings Spiritual Release of Favor and Blessings. Doing physical acts of obedience releases the spiritual and look out Miracles will come. Favor will come. Spiritual Release comes with you and I doing physical acts of obedience and Blessings Will Come. Miracles, Favor, Blessings are the fruit of obeying God when He instructs us to do physical acts of obedience. God will raise you up.

It’s less of you and more of Him. God instructed us to do this physical act of obedience to get less of us and more of Him. God knows the the victory is in more of Him and less of you.
We fail so often, we hurt those we love, fear and pain are because we are more of us and less of Jesus.

Text: John 3:30 “He must increase [in prominence], but I must decrease.”
“He must become greater, and I must become less important.” John 3:30 NCV
MORE OF HIM LESS OF ME.

The key to Spiritual Release is more of Him and less of me. More of Jesus and less of me. Pleasing Him more than pleasing me. Many times we do not see the spiritual releases because it is more of us.

Everyone wants to be blessed, successful, and happy, but most don’t want to do the work or what it will cost you. Salvation is free, but if you want an Abundant Life it will take you doing things.
PHYSICAL ACTS OF OBEDIENCE BRINGS SPIRITUAL RELEASES. When we obey God with the physical acts of obedience things begin to happen in the unseen world.

More of Him, less of me. Doing more of what He wants and doing less of what I want.

When we do the physical acts of obedience it is with the heart and attitude of John 3:30. I want more of Him and less of me. Everything falls apart when I am full of me or self.

When we obey and do the physical acts of obedience it brings spiritual releases of Favor, Blessings, and Miracles. Self can not create the Blessings of God, The Favor of God, The Miracles of God. More of Him, less of me.

Story in Bible of an illustration of a physical act of obedience and how it brought spiritual releases, Favor, Blessings, and Miracles.

“Now when Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and when he lowered his hand [due to fatigue], Amalek prevailed.”
EXODUS 17:11 AMP

God tells Moses to climb to the top of the mountain and told Joshua to lead the army of Israel to battle. God gave instructions for Moses to obey. The instructions were not prayer, they were instructions for Moses to do something physically. God said when on top of the mountain lift up your hands.

There are times for prayer and meditation, but here God says a physical act of obedience. Lift up your hands over your head. When his hands were up they would be winning, when he got tired they would start to loose the battle.

Most people would say, its ok to put my hands down, i am tired, i did my part. God understands, He knows my heart. God showed the release was only when Moses did obey Gods Word physically and not just spiritually. This is Spiritual to God. Do physically what I say to do. Moses is tired, it was not just about Moses but an army, a nation depended on Him to do what God says to do.

Who’s life is or will be affected by us dropping our arms because we are to tired, to fatigued to obey God?????

There is a huge connection with what we do in the physical with what happens in the Spiritual.

Everything God asks us to do that is physical has a powerful and dynamic spiritual benefit.
I think how much of blessings, favor and miracles are locked up in storage waiting for us to do what He is calling us to do.

“I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”
1 Timothy 2:8 KJV

God says lift up your hands. God says do it without getting mad or upset. People get mad when asked to do a physical acts of obedience. Well, I don’t need to lift my hands, or sing worship songs or many of the other things that God says Do.

If God said do something or repose should be yes Lord. We got upset, anger, bitter when it is much more of us than Him. I have seen people get upset when we receive the tithe and offerings. So many don’t go to church anymore and they say they don’t need to go to a church to serve God. God said do not forsake the gathering like some do. He died for the church. He wrote most of the New Testament to churches as letters thru men of God inspired by Holy Spirit. The church is our gathering.

We should come more and more so that there is less of you. It is a physical act of obedience. Don’t argue, get involved.

Physical acts of obedience, tithing & offerings. Many don’t give as God instructed the tenth. God knows my heart.

Today the Christian church is everything is about feelings and intellect and not about any physical actions. I feel like i love the Lord and worship Him on the inside of my heart so I don’t have to clap my hands or lift my voice or come to a church. I don’t have to do any of the things He says do, because knows my heart.

Tell everyone how much you love your wife or husband or children. Tell them, but do not do any physical acts of love for them. They will question your love.

God demands our physical acts of obedience before He will release Spiritual Reward.

Fasting & Praying are physical acts of obedience, so is attending church regularly, so is serving and working in the ministry, so is giving your tithe & offerings, so is worshiping, clapping our hands, lifting our hands to God, so is sharing our faith and inviting people to experience Jesus, so is helping those who are less fortunate, so is Baptism, so is taking communion, speaking in tongues by being filled with Holy Spirit, READING YOUR BIBLE, etc……

“And Jesus answered, “You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.”” MATTHEW 17:17 AMP

They complained they were unable to cast out the evil spirits. They asked why??? Jesus says you unbelieving and perverted generation. As long as you unwilling to die to your flesh, more of Him and less of me. Unbelief exist when we are disconnected from God and connected with our fears and doubts and unbelief. More of Him, less of me.

“He answered, “Because of your little faith [your lack of trust and confidence in the power of God]; for I assure you and most solemnly say to you, if you have [living] faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and [if it is God’s will] it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” MATTHEW 17:20 AMP

“[But this kind of demon does not go out except by prayer and fasting.]””
MATTHEW 17:21 AMP
