Prayer is communication with God. Some people say its just talking to God. Prayer is much more than just talking to God. Prayer is speaking to God, It is listening to God and then it is doing what He said out of your conversations with God.
Prayer is more than you just asking, asking, asking like someone said gimme, gimme, gimme because my name is Jimmy. We are children and God is our Father, when you see children all they do is ask and ask and ask and have fits when they don’t get what they want. We have words for those types of children.
This is not prayer to our Father. Just like people who speak repetition saying the same thing over and over, this is not prayer.
Prayer is communication between a son or daughter and their Father. When we receive Christ as our Savior and Lord we enter into a personal relationship with God thur Christ Jesus. What Jesus did sacrifice and paying the price for our sins He became the door thru which we now have access to our Father.
Quote: Prayer should be the key of the day and the lock of the night.
Prayer delights God’s ear; it melts His heart; and opens His hand. God cannot deny a praying soul.
Prayer is the link that connects us to God.
God waits for you to communicate with Him. You have instant, direct access to God. God loves mankind so much, and in a very special sense His children, that He has made Himself available to you at all times.
Adam would walk with God and would communicate with His God as a son and Father relationship. It’s like when I am walking holding my younger grandchildren’s hand and we are talking and sharing back and forth.
Daisy loves to share with me how her school day went or Adani on what he learned. We speak, we listen and this is communication. Jesus restored this type of relationship. We can walk and talk to our Father just like Adam.
See what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
1 JOHN 3:1 AMP
The Father has loved us so much that we are called children of God. And we really are his children. The reason the people in the world do not know us is that they have not known him.
1 John 3:1 NCV
Prayer is communication between children and their father. My children and grand children have no problem coming to me and sharing, we talk, we listen, I teach then I say this is what you do, I give them instructions for their situations.
When you know that you know you are His child and He is your Father, you can speak to your Father. When we are not sure about our relationship then our communication is effected.
When you are unsure of a person you will not communicate with courage or confidence because you are not sure. When you are sure of the relationship with your Father you can share, listen and then obey. Adam when he did what God asked him not to do he was hiding from God. Remember when your children messed up, they would hide or avoided you.
Children who know their daddy have no problem spending time with their Father. IF you have issues with prayer, unsure what to say or start, it is a relationship issues. My grandchildren even when so little and young still have confidence in our relationship. They can come to me and we will share, listen we will communicate.
I talk to God just like my children talk to me. We talk. I share my feelings, I share my fears, I can confide in my Father about things I am going thru.
Remember when Moses is called by God. Moses is sharing his fears and his lack of confidence in himself. If you want to know deeper things on Prayer come Wednesday to our house and Pastor Yvonne loves to teach about our Acts prayer.
What I am doing is taking us back to the place where you spend time with your Father. I believe many people never see the results or miracles or breakthroughs of prayer because of the uncertainties of the Father son Father daughter relationships. Religion teaches if you sin God won’t hear you. He hears. There is a difference between Gods love and Gods favor. Explain the difference.
My children are my children no matter what they do and I want to spend time with them. I love communicating with them. They get to know me and my heart, my ways, my desire by spending time communicating with me. God is calling us as His children, come spend time with me, walk with me, laugh, cry, scream with me. At times our Father will hold us, carry us and protect us.
“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,” says the LORD, “plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you.”
JEREMIAH 29:11-12 AMP
Prayer lacks the intimacy when you are unsure of ourselves, unsure of God, unsure of your way of living. When I read this it tells me God loves me. It tells me we have a Father who wants the best for us. We have a Father who is not out to hurt or destroy us. God says the plans and thoughts I have for you are Amazing. Plans the plans my Father has for us is prosperity, peace, hope. I do not worry about our future. I do not live in fear of my Father abandoning me.
His love will never leave or abandon us. When you except and step into this intimate relationship with God He says you will call to me. Like when a child can’t see their parents and they begin to call. You will come and pray to me we have to come to Him. Communication share, talk, worship, love. He says I will hear your voice and I will listen to you.
Prayer if you are doing all the talking, praying, sharing or shouting, it is not communication. That is called broadcasting, like the radio it sends signals out but does not receive them.
Communication, effective prayer is sharing and talking with your Father, but when you are finished you stop speaking and then you listen. Listening is very difficult, which is why so few people do it. Most people are talking and the other person is not really listening they are just looking to jump in and speak too.
Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.
JEREMIAH 33:3 AMP
Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.
Jeremiah 33:-3 MSG
I believe just as much as you spend time praising God, worshiping God and praying to God you must develop the quality of listening to Him. God has the answers to everything you need, want or should know.
He said Call to me and I will answer you. I believe many times our Father gives us the answers to our challenges, our questions, but because we have not learned how to be still and know He is God and be quiet and listen.
People of wisdom and intelligence do not speak a lot. They know how to listen. More is learned and received when you can get into that place of quiet and just listen.
I will tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could not figure out on your own. What if God in this place of listening would share with you and i the mysteries.
It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him.
DANIEL 2:22 AMP
Daniel knew His Father, he lived in this intimate relationship with His God and Father. He would pray, but he would also wait and listen, listen be still and hear what God would speak to you.
Prayer is about relationship first.
