Sermon Notes

Our World as we know it is in one of the most Transitional Periods of History. We have seen it since the election. So much is going on in and around us. Things are changing faster than many of us want. Change and changes are going to happen. No matter if you like or not like, agree or not agree Transition is going to take place in our life and planet and world.

Transition means.
movement, passage, or change from one position, state, stage, subject, concept, etc., to another; change:

1550s, from Latin transitionem (nominative transitio) “a going across or over,” noun of action from past participle stem of transire “go or cross over”

God is trying to move us into what He has planned for us. He is trying to move us into His Place and His Plan and His Purpose.

We get stuck in the move and we don’t want to keep moving or changing or transitioning to what God has for us.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11 KJV

From the very beginning of our lives God knew we would have to go thru times of transition. In order to become who He intended us to be, to receive what He intended us to receive. To accomplish all that He intended for us to accomplish.

Think when a young mother or couple has a baby still in the womb, they think and dream about all the great things the baby will be and do. They have thoughts of love, happiness, joy and peace. They see so much goodness and blessings for their child.
This is how God sees us. He has thoughts that He thinks towards us.

PEACE: In the Hebrew means Shaw-lam. This means to be safe in mind, body, and estate. To be completed. The word Shaw-lom means safe, health, prosperity, well. These are the thoughts of God towards us and others.

Look when Gods people disobeyed Him, found themselves in bondage in Egypt. God loves us, but He will let us make our own choices and and let us follow our free will. God has so much better for us, but its up to us.

He gave us His word the Bible, He said just do what it says in the book. Not very hard Instructions. Just do what it says in the book. It says love, you love. It says forgive, you forgive. It says give you give. It says go to church, you go to church. It says help people to know Christ, help them to know the Lord. It says, what it says just do it.

Listen God has to move us because we are not in this Place of Peace. We are not in the safe place of health, prosperity, wellbeing, in our mind, body, or estate.

TRANSITION UNEXPECTED
When they were in Egypt everything was great when Joseph was alive. When he died it was time for transition. God allows a space and time for us to make the choice to move, grow, submit, change, but most of the time we like to stay where we are in the easy comfortable place.

When Joseph died everything changed. They went from a time of super blessings to in bondage and slaves imprisoned. Things started to change but they did see the changes because they were so caught up in living. If you get so busy living that you can not see God is getting ready to move, you must be sensitive enough to follow in Spirit. Gods favor ended when Joseph died, but they stayed way past the time. FAVOR MOVED AND THEY STAYED.

Favor is gone, it is not in Egypt any more. When the Lord leaves its time for us to leave.
“Then Joseph died, and all his brothers and all that generation, but the Israelites were prolific and increased greatly; they multiplied and became extremely strong, so that the land was filled with them.” EXODUS 1:6-7 AMP

Here is the start of Transition. Favor followed with Joseph. It says Joseph and that generation died. There is a danger of increase, multiplication, and increasing in strength. They people grew and increased in every area but God. They grew financially, they economically, they grew in numbers, they grew in strength, but they did not see the Spiritual Transition that was taking place.

They were living with eyes of increase, not the eyes of the Spirit.

“But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father–the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].” JOHN 16:13 AMP

This is Spirit led not weird or freaky, just in touch with God thru His Spirit. You are connected in Spirit and you hear and listen to what Spirit is speaking to and thru you. The Word says His Spirit lives alive inside of us. Many are not in touch with His Spirit so they go thru life making choices based on how things look and how they feel.

We walk, live move by faith and not by sight. Israel they were living by sight, feel, emotions, everything look good, felt good, they were blessed, abundance, increase, they felt strong, but there was a transition getting ready to take place and they missed the boat.

There is way God wants us to live, if you miss the transition it is costly.

“There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, But its end is the way of death.” PROVERBS 14:12 AMP

It seemed right to just stay in Egypt. Favor left. Favor is a force, Its Gods Spirit. God moved and they people just stayed because the way things appeared. Appearances can fool you.

Just because something looks good does not matter, is it God? We want God not good. I want a God life not just a good life. There is no favor on a good life. Its not enough to be just a good person. We want and desire to be God people. People who are in touch with God thru His Spirit which lives in us.

God allows us seasons, but when the season changes when He is moving in Transition, we must be careful not to miss the Opportunity.

They missed God because they were caught up in the greed of increase, they missed God because they were caught up in the abundance, they missed God because they were enjoying the things that were created and not the Creator. They were out of touch with God, but so in touch with what He provided.

“Now a new king arose over Egypt, who did not know Joseph [nor the history of his accomplishments]. He said to his people, “Behold, the people of the sons of Israel are too many and too mighty for us [they greatly outnumber us]. Come, let us deal shrewdly with them, so that they will not multiply and in the event of war, join our enemies, and fight against us and escape from the land.” So they set taskmasters over them to oppress them with hard labor. And the sons of Israel built Pithom and Raamses as storage cities for Pharaoh. But the more the Egyptians oppressed them, the more they multiplied and expanded, so that the Egyptians dreaded and were exasperated by the Israelites. And the Egyptians made the Israelites serve rigorously [forcing them into severe slavery]. They made their lives bitter with hard labor in mortar, brick, and all kinds of field work. All their labor was harsh and severe.”
EXODUS 1:8-14 AMP

Favor left, a King a new King who did not know God or His people is now in authority.

We must at all times keep our spiritual eyes open to see when there is a shift or transition in God. So many hardships and pains have been created because Gods people did not transition when they were supposed to. When the Spirit began to shift you must shift.

They went from wealthy, prosperous, blessed, favored, strong, abundance to being reduced to harsh and severe slavery.

This is not the end and neither is yours. We all are expected to be a transitional period. God is wanting to take us from Glory to Glory.

TRANSITION EXPECTE

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11 KJV

End means reward and a word called posterity.
Posterity means posterity
future or succeeding generations
all of one’s descendants
